Since the tone of this site appearance-wise is quite wacky (I want to make kind of broken, but functional website since I am a beginner with html and css and admire amauterish aesthetic), but some of the content is serious, the content and the appearance will eat each other and lessen credibility. However, this is genuine expression of what I like and feel is important.

The dream would be to have a guestbook, where users could leave comments and they would appear as post-it style notes spread through the page. Some moderating capabilities are propably needed! Another feature would be some javascript critters running around the page and being there available for the visitor to interact with :) maybe some tamagotchi-like features, such as feeding and pooping.

Update: I added atabook.org guestbook to the main page. It doesn't leave the comments as post-it notes on the site and I realised that is not possible with how the neocities work, since I cant have any serverside processing. So I would have to set up a server which accesses my site through API and implements that guestbook! Lot of work and some expenses. It was way easier to use this free service and it is customizible appearancewise! I put it in a iframe element and linked to compose-tag, so that it would scroll automatically to the comment submitting panel (otherwise it would show a logo and the user would have to scroll inside the iframe to the actual functionality)

Also a game! Or games! In a separate page some fancy border and javascript game, maybe some worm, like in old Nokias or the asteroids game

dancing to electronic music

Regarding dance, it has been a great emotional (shaking ones stress away) and body health supporting (also destroying, what with the inflammated knees and such) exercise. I have no official form and am speaking about solo dance mostly in the context of electronic music parties. Ones, where the djs play techno (or tekno), dnb, house, psytrance and such. Three years maybe I have been attending the parties, less so recently, and have learnt a lot what it is to move your body to the rhythm. I am perhaps in a experience plateau now. Too analytical, too judgemental toward my style, I don't let it go as I used to. But it is nice to look back on what I have learnt, this piece of text is about that!

My exposure to dancing as a child was limited to the dancing in the physical education classes. That dancing was pair dancing, waltz, fox trot and tango for example. It felt clumsy and embarrasing, probably, don't remember so well. But being not so athletic child and shy, I figure it must have been. I was shy about touching girls and maybe were considered undesirible by some. For long time dance didn't concern me at all. Then in one volunteer event abroad I attended a party, where there was loud music. And I was out of the dancefloor showing people how to play Dwarf Fortress on my laptop. Yeah... Then one shining soul welcomed me to the dance floor. I was kinda freaked out if they wanted to dance with me and was unsure about that and awkward. I didn't, but tried to dance by myself. I lost myself to the dance! It was eye-opening! I could listen to the rhythm and then make moves to the rhythm, syncronize with the music, feel the beat. I am very grateful for that experience. Next morning I was again awkward with that person, who invited me to the dancefloor, since I couldn't figure it out if they wanted to dance with me, or just to allow me to have fun instead of nerding with the computer. But thanks to them, I discovered something I belove to this day!

Coming back to home I soon bought a ticket, or was it that asked my father to sponsor me, to dance classes. But I chose pair dancing, the same styles as we had back in elementary school, and while it had it's moments, it just didn't feel like my thing. It is simply too hard to syncronize with your pair and move as a unit all the time. For sure it is possible to learn, but I usually want fast progress. But the basic technique of holding hands together and on the waist and shoulder and forming this rigid ring of arms and then using that as pivot for movement, I think I got that and can come back to it if I want...

Some year later I attended my first electronic music party. It was organized by local collective, who mostly play techno in their events. The venue is now not in use, it was a inside skate park and a culture space. All kinds of music happenings were organized there, punk gigs, a birthay party, day time activities focused on underground culture. It was a BYOB event the people were between young and middle-aged. I had a blast! Dancing to 4/4 rhythms is so easy and the mood of techno puts me in semi aggressive state, where I can just pump my legs and energize myself to dance, dance, dance. I loved that there were no breaks between tracks, since dj mixes everything together, so one could dance through the whole set uninterrupted. As a first experience of these type of events, everything was new and exciting, I was in my discovery phase of the culture and overjoyed, that I had found something, that speaks so much to me and matches my energy and how I wish to dance.

Palestine

Palestine came to my focus after October 7th, when Hamas did the terrorist attack and Israel started their own terror campaign. I fully support Palestine and condemn Hamas, which Netanyahu government and many israeli governments before have supported. The terrorist organizition of Hamas is a conveniant enemy for the Israeli state, since the war against terrorism is well understood concept in the west and a good way to frame the battle between good and evil and all actions taken by Israel just. Israel doesn't want Gaza and the West Bank to unite politically, but wishes to use the divide the palestinian land and then conquer them. In the west media all the conflicts are examined as new ones, and then a time of "peace" begins only to some new conflict between Palestine and Israel to flare up. However, the conflict is continuing one and has been in flames since the Nakba in 1948. The ethnic cleansing of palestinians has been the israeli project ever since and
